Having fallen badly twice just prior to Christmas and once just before my birthday, I am suffering with Avery dodgy right one and can't really walk properly. However, I am a little nearer a diagnosis of what is actually wrong with it. An X-ray revealed no broken bones but mild to moderate arthritis at the back of my patella. I had already realised I have arthritis in both knees. So it is pretty clear that it is soft tissue damage, but exactly what is yet unclear as there remains some residual swelling. The exercises given to me by the physiotherapist are really quite painful, so they must be doing me good.
The worst thing about walking difficulties is the degree to which they circumscribe a whole host of everyday activities from exercise to cooking and studying to Facebook. The tendency to spend hours in a chair is quite scary and very boring.
